By his great intelligence man has conquered the air. He can now fly in the air like birds. The airplane is a wonderful modern invention. There are many kinds of airplane. Some are used as a means of transport and some others are used in war. The airplane has made the world look very small. Now, we can fly to very distant places in a few hours. It is now the quickest means of travel.

Nowadays, there is the air mail system to carry letters and parcels quickly from one place to another. Planes are also used to carry goods. Airplanes are very useful in times of floods and famine. Food packets are dropped from planes to flood victims. Food stuffs are taken by air to famine areas. In times of war airplanes carry soldiers and war materials to the war front. They are also used to bomb enemy cities and towns from the air. Thus we find that the airplane is both a blessing and a curse.
