Books Bestow Pleasure And Knowledge


Reading a pleasure giving habit, may be a stimulant to action, independent thinking and conversation but not an alternative to them. Books acquaint us with knowledge of the world. Sometimes a book provides more interest then a dual visitor, though there are people who can enjoy reading as well as conversation with equal pleasure. Whereas a book can be chosen and dropped at anytime according to one's taste or mood, a dull talker is difficult to stop. But reading is a dangerous subsidy for thought and action as it lacks the human touch which is essential for life.

Man must be full of knowledge, depend on the type of progression. Soldering a practical job with human nature as its main element, cannot be learn from books. The soldiers for his knowledge should read only lives and characters of great commanders in preference to their campaign which describe only their manoeuvre or principles of concentration. The writer has spent many years in the east and books on history and biography and travel has claimed larger places in his reading then those on any other subject. He regards poetry as a great heritage as it stimulates one's whole personality. However, modern poetry of the past. Escapist literature either make one forget the cares or anxieties for a while or brings a sense of adventure to life, but moden novels which are highly complicated and sophisticated do not provide either of these pleasure. Books like friends should be chosen carefully and tastefully because they are full of information about our profession and wisdom and inspire as well as entertain us.
