Flood Situation in Andhra Pradesh

India sees a critical situation every year. That is drought and floods are the major problem now. Both are equally deadly and taking thousands of lives. Heavy rains and floods over the past week have spread across the states Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. It is so far have claimed more than 240 people. The Krishna River is one of the big river in India. It contains more than a million cu-secs of water received from the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. Flood waters from the Krishna River have cut the town of Vijaywada off from the rest of Andhra Pradesh. Chodavaram village is more affected by this flood. It is located on the downstream of Prakasam Barrage. By this flood rendered more than 3 million people homeless in the state alone. The floods have attacked 14 districts. The Indian government gears up for relief work after the situation. With India almost used to battling the two calamities every year. Should the government work on means to predict such calamities? Is government's job limited just to relief work? But no one has control over natural calamities. But is the technology not advanced enough to warn us before the disaster. With this approach govt can save peoples life but it can not avoid natural disaster.
