The Habit of Savings

"Many a little makes a mickle" is an proverb which has the meaning of "little drops of water make a mighty ocean". There is also another proverb which says "A fool and his money are soon parted". As we are fools, let us care of our money. Nowadays, there are a number of ways open to people to save their money safely. There are many banks, post offices, private firms and individuals and others who enable a person to set aside a part of his income for future use.

The many country itself has introduced a number of schemes to enable people to save their money. It offers through its banks and post offices security bonds, gift cheques and vikas patras which became two-fold of three-fold after five years or ten years and thus became useful for the family when the son is old enough to enter a professional college or the daughter is going to be married. The habit of saving, thus, saves a person from a future crisis, while at the same time offering his money for the developmental activities of the country.

Savings habit helps many other kinds of people. It helps an aged person who has no one to look after him. It also helps an invalid or a handicapped person from being driven to begging. It helps the younger generation of people who are not fortunate enough to become rich or reasonably so. In such cases, the savings of the older generation come down to the descendants and help them overcome the crises in their lives.
